Colin Horne has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Colin began their career as a Web Developer at Net Resources Ltd in 2005. Colin then moved on to work as a Web Development specialist at the University of Glasgow in 2007. In 2010, Horne joined Lokku as a Software Engineer, where they developed spatial-query algorithms and designed a framework for batch processing of geographical data. In 2011, they became a PhD candidate at the Medical Research Council, focusing on their research until 2015. In 2016, Horne took on the role of an Algorithms Developer at Blackford Analysis Ltd. Currently, they are the Chief Technology Officer at Hearing Diagnostics Limited, a company they co-founded in 2017. In this role, they led the development of a new technology for hearing screening that improves accuracy and accessibility to care.
Colin Horne began their education in 2005 at the University of Glasgow, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Computing Science. Colin completed this program in 2009. Afterward, they furthered their studies at the University of Nottingham from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Biology.
