Heart Math Tutoring seeks to ensure that all elementary students develop a strong foundation in math and enthusiasm for academics by leveraging the powerful resource of volunteer time. Community members commit one hour per week to deliver an effective, hands-on curriculum in one-on-one tutoring sessions during the school day in Charlotte area elementary schools.

Designed in partnership with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Heart Math Tutoring provides a curriculum that targets conceptual gaps of students. Heart also provides an on-site coordinator to support volunteers, students, and school staff. Volunteers provide one-on-one tutoring twice per week.

The Leadership Team at Heart Math Tutoring provides strategic vision and leadership to ensure the organization meets its mission of fostering math proficiency and enthusiasm in elementary students. The Chief Executive Officer oversees overall operations and long-term planning, the Vice President of Development focuses on securing funding and community partnerships, and the Chief Operating Officer manages the day-to-day functions and program implementation. Together, they collaborate to strengthen the impact and reach of Heart Math Tutoring across the Charlotte area.
