Kate Sorestad has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. Kate currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations at the Heart of America Foundation, where they collaborate with the leadership team to execute strategic initiatives and optimize outcomes. Prior to this, they worked at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation as a Program Director, managing grants to nonprofits and meeting the basic needs of people experiencing poverty. Kate also served as a Graduate Student at the University of Maryland, a Policy Fellow at the Office of Governor Martin O'Malley, and a Mentoring Coordinator at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Additionally, they volunteered as an Administrative/Communication Coordinator at Journeys Church and worked as a Project Development Officer at the Saskatoon Housing Initiatives Partnership.
Kate Sorestad obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon from 2001 to 2004. Kate later pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management, Finance, and Leadership at the University of Maryland from 2010 to 2012.
