James Ong, MD, FACC, FHRS is a highly experienced cardiologist specializing in heart rhythm disorders and cardiac electrophysiology. Currently serving as a UC San Diego Foundation Trustee since May 2020, James Ong is the Founder of Heart Rhythm Specialists of Southern California and the Afib Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at advancing education and treatments for arrhythmias. James Ong holds the position of Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center and has vast experience in various leadership roles, including Chief Electrophysiologist at Cardiology Consultant Medical Group and Medical Director at Providence Tarzana Medical Center. James Ong has been recognized as a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology and has contributed to academic medicine as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Cedars-Sinai. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.
