Paulien Klap

Paulien Klap is a skilled professional in industrial design with extensive experience in leadership and product development within the medical technology sector. Currently serving as a Senior Practitioner at Heartbeat Ventures since September 2023, Paulien also co-founded and leads Wooncoöperatie de Lage Drempels. Previously, as Chief Operating Officer at Yumen Bionics from October 2017 to September 2023, Paulien was instrumental in bringing the first arm exoskeleton to market in the Netherlands, designed specifically for individuals with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Paulien's earlier roles include product lead and product engineer at Yumen Bionics, graduate intern at VUmc, and assistant project manager at Lyceo, showcasing a diverse background in both design and project management. Academic credentials include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Delft University of Technology.
