Chris Thurmond

Chris Thurmond has a comprehensive work experience in the banking and financial industry. Chris is currently the Director of Consumer Branch Banking Operations at HTLF since May 2023. Prior to that, they worked at USAA as the Omnichannel Risk Advisory & Issue Management from August 2021 to May 2023, and as the Omnichannel Business Strategy Analytics from May 2021 to August 2022. Chris was also the Vice President, 1LoD Risk Management Leader, Regional Banking at First Horizon Bank from January 2019 to May 2021. In addition, Chris held various roles at First Tennessee Bank including Head of Retail Incentive Compensation and Performance Management from March 2013 to December 2018, Retail Small Business and Workplace Banking Manager from June 2010 to March 2013, and Mortgage Banker from October 2008 to June 2010. Chris also co-founded and managed First Covenant Financial Group as the Managing Broker, Mortgage Banking from May 2007 to October 2008. Chris started their career at SunTrust Bank as an Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Banker from 2005 to February 2007, and then worked as a Relationship Manager at First Horizon Home Loans from 2002 to 2004. Chris also served as the VP - Branch Manager, Mortgage Division at Beazer Homes in 1999.

Chris Thurmond completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a major in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in the years 1992 to 1997. Subsequently, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Management at Auburn University from 2004 to 2007.
