Barry Hartweg

Barry Hartweg, PhD, currently serves as a Solar Project Engineer at Hecate Energy LLC since April 2023. Prior to this role, Barry co-founded SunFlex Solar, where innovative back-contacted silicon PV modules were developed from May 2020 to April 2023. As a Graduate Research Associate at Arizona State University from August 2018 to April 2023, Barry conducted research on solar PV device design and processing, resulting in over 100 fabricated PV cells and five new lab methodologies, utilizing modeling software such as Quokka, SunSolve, and MATLAB. Barry’s experience also includes roles as an R&D Laboratory Technician III at Sherwin-Williams, a science teacher at East-West International School in Cambodia, and an OPV Research Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Barry earned a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Arizona State University and a BS in Chemistry from Baylor University.
