Kaitlyn O'Connell

Kaitlyn O'Connell is a Geotechnical Engineer currently employed at Hecla Mining Company since July 2022. Prior experience includes serving as a Rock Mechanics Engineer at Sibanye-Stillwater from April 2021 to July 2022 and as a Ground Control Foreman at Martin Marietta from November 2018 to April 2021. Kaitlyn's early career included an internship at Montana Resources, focusing on assay and engineering tasks, followed by a Geotech Intern position at Hecla Mining, where responsibilities included seismic reporting and design work using AutoCAD. Additional internships at Barrick Gold Corporation and ConocoPhillips provided experience in geotechnical monitoring, design, and testing. Kaitlyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering from Montana Technological University, earned in 2017, and completed high school at the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics.
