Matthew Davies is an accomplished professional in design placemaking and development, currently serving as the Director of Design Placemaking & Engagement at Hedyn Wales since April 2025. Previously, Matthew held the position of Executive Director of Development at Newport City Homes from September 2019 to April 2025. With a significant tenure at Hafod from November 2005 to September 2019, Matthew progressed through roles including Director of Investment & Growth, Director of Development Services, and Project Manager. Early in the career, Matthew worked as Development Manager at Cymdeithas Tai Dewi Sant and as Senior Development Officer at Hafod. Matthew obtained a BSc(Hons) in Building Surveying from the University of the West of England between 1992 and 1995.
