Roel Swinkels

Roel Swinkels has extensive experience in the engineering and project management fields within the marine and subsea industries, currently serving as Manager Product Development and Project Manager at Heerema Marine Contractors since October 2012. Previously, Swinkels held roles such as Lead Product Development and Account Manager Turn Around, as well as Lead Engineer Subsea Design & Materials, where leadership of a 20+ engineer team was a key responsibility. With a background in technical EPC management on significant projects like Kaombo and contributions to flexible riser systems on the CLOV project at Subsea 7, Swinkels has demonstrated expertise in procurement, design, and installation analyses. Early career experiences include pipeline engineering at Acergy and software development for offshore wind energy at Ramboll. Swinkels holds a Master of Science degree in Offshore Engineering, graduated with cum laude distinction from Delft University of Technology.
