Alexander Åkerlund

Alexander Åkerlund is a Project Manager at Heidelberg Materials Northern Europe since January 2024, focusing on sustainability in product, process, and business development for the cement, concrete, and aggregates sectors. Previously, Alexander was the Team Manager for the Physical Analysis & Market Support department at Heidelberg Materials Cement Sverige from March 2018 to December 2023, where responsibilities included leading the development of sustainable cement products. Alexander began in the organization as a Research Engineer, engaging in project leadership and quality assurance, and held a role as Project Leader implementing multivariate data analysis for quality assurance. Earlier experience includes a position as Assistant Research Scientist at Cementa AB, where research supported a Master's thesis on superplasticizer requirements in concrete production. Alexander holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Building Materials and Physics from Aalto University.
