Ira Brueckner

Ira Brueckner is an experienced sustainability professional currently serving as the Head of Sustainability Strategy & Engagement at Heidelberg Materials since February 2022. In this role, Ira is responsible for sustainability strategy, ESG reporting, circularity, and communication initiatives, reporting directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer. Previous roles at Heidelberg Materials include Senior Manager and Manager of Sustainability Strategy, where Ira focused on enhancing sustainability commitments and implementing a global circularity strategy. Ira's earlier experience includes serving as Project Lead for Change Management at Wasserverband Eifel-Rur, where management of change projects and development of leadership principles were key responsibilities. Ira also held roles as a research and student assistant at the Institute of Environmental Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. Educational qualifications include a Dr.-Ing. from RWTH Aachen University, a CSR and Sustainability Manager certification from WBS Training, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from RWTH Aachen University.
