Marius Hjertaker has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Marius started their career as an Electrician at Moelven Elektro AS in 2010. After that, they had a summer internship at GK Norge AS in 2011, where they gained experience in commissioning, testing, and servicing HVAC systems.
In 2012, Marius had another summer internship at Aker Solutions, where they worked in the automation and instrumentation department, verifying and correcting as-built packages. Marius returned to Aker Solutions for a summer internship in 2013, this time at the department of automation and instrumentation, where they performed verification and correction work.
In 2014, Marius joined Kongsberg Seatex AS as an R&D Engineer/Intern, working part-time in the research and development department. Here, they focused on software development and HIL-testing of algorithms for sensor calibration, sensor fusion, and attitude estimation, as well as the development of a graphical UI for the Kongsberg Seatex eBird system.
From 2015 to 2016, Marius worked at Johnson Controls as a Project Engineer, specializing in HVAC and building automation. Marius'sresponsibilities included designing, programming, and commissioning controllers, networking, and SCADA equipment. Marius also gained experience in C# software development, Modbus drivers, BACnet protocol stack, and network topology design.
Marius moved on to Element Logic in 2018, where they worked as a System Developer. Marius was involved in software and product development, focusing on automating intralogistics software solutions for warehouse operations.
In 2020, Marius had two roles. First, they worked at Space Norway as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for software development for satellite operations. Marius utilized languages and tools such as Python, Docker, Jenkins pipelines, Django, Rabbit, React, Bitbucket, and TDD.
Later in 2020, Marius joined Hurtigruten Group as a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead for Cloud Services. Marius was in charge of building and maintaining Hurtigruten's core bookingsystem, and they introduced Kubernetes (k8s) for their services, managing resources using Helm.
Most recently, in 2023, Marius Hjertaker joined Heimdall Power as a Backend Tech Lead.
Marius Hjertaker's education history begins in 2003 when they earned a Trade certificate in Electricity and electronics from Jessheim High School. In 2009, they pursued a Pre-Engineering course at Høgskulen i Sogn og Fjordane. Marius then completed their Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineer Technology/Technician from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences in 2013. Subsequently, they enrolled at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 2013 to 2015, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Engineering Cybernetics and Robotics.
