Vikrum Aiyer has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles related to public policy, advocacy, and communications. Vikrum is currently serving as the Head of Global Public Policy & External Affairs at Heirloom since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Advisor at Pano AI, a climate adaptation startup, where they provided policy and regulatory advice for wildfire detection and intelligence. Vikrum also served as a Senior Advisor at End Poverty in California (EPIC), a non-profit organization founded by former Mayor Michael Tubbs, where they focused on policy and communications.
In addition, Vikrum has held positions such as Commissioner at the Mayor of San Francisco's Workforce Investment Board (WISF), Deputy Director of the ACLU National Political Advocacy Department (Liberty), and Vice President of Global Public Policy & Strategic Communications at Postmates.
Earlier in their career, they worked as the Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary of Commerce for IP & US Patent and Trademark Office at the U.S. Department of Commerce during the Obama Administration. Vikrum also served as the White House Senior Advisor for Manufacturing & Innovation Policy at The White House.
Throughout their career, Vikrum has demonstrated expertise in policy development, strategic communications, and advocacy, making significant contributions in both the public and private sectors.
Vikrum Aiyer attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
