Shashwat Vajpeyi

Shashwat Vajpeyi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development, particularly in bioprocessing and sustainable technologies. Currently serving as the Head of Late Stage R&D at Helaina since March 2023, Shashwat is focused on commercializing human lactoferrin protein production and enhancing data management through advanced technologies. Previously, Shashwat held leadership roles at Insempra and Modern Meadow, where significant contributions were made in product development and fermentation systems. As a co-founder and CTO of CarboCycle, Shashwat led innovative efforts to upcycle organic waste into palm oil substitutes, achieving recognition in startup competitions. An adjunct professor at Columbia University and holder of a PhD in Environmental Engineering, Shashwat has also contributed to various projects and internships, showcasing expertise in process engineering and pollution control.
