Bill Near

Bill Near has a diverse and extensive work experience. Bill is currently the CEO and Founder of HELIOS® since August 2018. Prior to that, they worked at ClearMotion where they held various roles including EE Sr. Technical Specialist, Director of Electrical Engineering, Chief Electrical Engineer, and Power & Analog Electrical Engineer from 2013 to 2018. At ClearMotion, they played a crucial role in growing and leading the Electrical Engineering department and was responsible for developing advanced power electronics and battery management systems. Before that, Bill Near co-founded Thrombotix, LLC in 2011, a medical device startup focused on peripheral venous disorders. Additionally, they worked as a Researcher & Analog Circuit Designer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory from 2010 to 2012, and as a Product Engineering Intern at Analog Devices, Inc. in 2009. Bill also gained experience as a Software Development Intern at OSRAM in 2008 and as an Engineering Intern at EFI-VUTEk in 2007.

Bill Near attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Bill then pursued further education at the same institution from 2010 to 2012, obtaining a Master of Engineering degree in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
