Ahmed Mezil, P.Eng, MASc has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ahmed is the Founder and CEO of Hellamaid, a company they started in 2017. Previously, Ahmed worked as a Senior Biomedical Engineering Laboratory Coordinator at the University of Guelph starting in 2017.
From 2014 to 2017, Ahmed worked as a Researcher and Mechanical Designer at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. During this time, they collaborated with researchers, scientists, and engineers to design and build mobility and injury prevention devices for the elderly and disabled. This included using CAD software and rapid-prototyping techniques.
Ahmed also has teaching experience, having served as a Teaching Assistant and Course Instructor at the University of Toronto. Ahmed taught a course on rehabilitation engineering and led field trips to the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Additionally, they taught at the DaVinci Engineering Enrichment Program (DEEP) Summer Academy, where they instructed high school students from various countries.
Earlier in their career, Ahmed gained experience in mechanical engineering through roles at the University of Waterloo, Innovative Blast Technologies, NCR Corporation, Tenneco, Rockwell Automation, and Research In Motion Ltd.
Ahmed Mezil, P.Eng, MASc has a strong education background in engineering and technology. Ahmed began their academic journey at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School, where they obtained their Highschool Diploma in Computer, Sciences, and Technology in the years 2007 to 2009.
Following their high school education, Ahmed enrolled at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Management Sciences. Ahmed dedicated five years to their undergraduate studies, graduating in 2014.
Ahmed's thirst for knowledge didn't end there, as they then pursued a Masters of Applied Science (MASc) degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the prestigious University of Toronto. Ahmed'sstudies at the University of Toronto ran from 2014 to 2017, further solidifying their expertise in their chosen field.
In addition to their academic achievements, Ahmed has also obtained some notable certifications. Ahmed obtained their Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification from Professional Engineers Ontario in March 2021. This certification demonstrates their proficiency and professionalism in the field of engineering. Additionally, Ahmed earned their Scuba Diver - Open Water certification from PADI in August 2021, showcasing their diverse interests outside of their professional pursuits.
