Sotiris Tsimbonis has extensive work experience in the technology and operations field. Sotiris started working at Forthnet in 1997 as a System and Network Operator until 1998. Sotiris then held the position of Hostmaster at Forthnet from October 2000 to January 2001. Sotiris returned to Forthnet in 2002 as a Network Engineer until April 2006 when they became a System Administrator, a role they held until September 2016. In October 2016, Sotiris joined Hellas Direct in a Technology & Operations role, where they are currently employed.

Sotiris Tsimbonis obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from an undisclosed institution between 1994 and 1999. Following that, between 1999 and 2000, Sotiris pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Distributed Interactive Systems, although the school name is not provided. Additionally, Sotiris has obtained several certifications throughout the years, namely: IPv6 Certified Sage from Hurricane Electric in December 2010, Computer Hacking Forensics Investigator from EC-Council in July 2007, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHEL6) from Red Hat in May 2011, Red Hat Certified Virtualization Administrator from Red Hat in April 2014, and LPIC-1 from the Linux Professional Institute in July 2011.
