Founder & CEO at Hello World

Sabina Bharwani is the founder and CEO of Hello World. Sabina previously worked as the managing director of innovation strategy and partnerships at Teach For America - National from January 2012 to December 2017. Before that, they were a math and literacy teacher at Uncommon Schools from January 2010 to December 2012, where they led 100% of their fourth grade class to pass the state math exam and 91% to pass the state ELA exam. Sabina also created and executed a math curriculum based on Common Core standards for three 4th grade and one 5th grade classroom. In addition, they designed a 'Technology in Our Classrooms' series in partnership with the Bronx Early College Academy on using tools such as Mastery Connect and Socrative to gather real-time data, increase engagement, and enhance conceptual learning. Furthermore, they partnered with the Development Team to secure a $600,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation; wrote for Verizon's blog to corps members on digital resources for K-12 and lead in Verizon's Education & Technology roundtables for teachers. Lastly, they implemented adaptive teaching by using clicker devices to analyze real-time data and led small group interventions.

Sabina Bharwani has a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Science from Rice University in Mathematics and Public Policy.
