Shijun Chan has extensive experience in corporate insolvency and advisory services. Shijun started their career as a Graduate Accountant at SV Partners in 2008, where they worked in the Corporate Insolvency Division. Shijun later moved to Smith Hancock in 2012 as a Senior 2 before joining Vincents Chartered Accountants in 2013 as a Senior Accountant in the Insolvency & Reconstruction Division. At Vincents, they focused on voluntary administration appointments and also had limited involvement in personal insolvency matters.

In 2015, Shijun joined Chifley Advisory as a Supervisor, where they managed a team and oversaw various types of corporate insolvency appointments, with a particular focus on the debtor-based SME market. Shijun was promoted to Manager in 2018, but soon transitioned to Helm Advisory in the same year as a Manager. At Helm Advisory, they provided a range of informal advisory services and oversaw a team in running various corporate insolvency matters in the SME market. Shijun also provided receivership services to private lender syndicates. In 2020, they were promoted to Senior Manager at Helm Advisory, and in 2023, they became an Associate Director.

Throughout their career, Shijun has been involved in complex ATO-appointed court liquidations and has achieved successful outcomes from unfunded appointments. Shijun has a strong track record in managing high-volume voluntary administration trade-on matters and has experience in a wide variety of industries.

Shijun Chan obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting & Finance from the University of Sydney in 2008. In 2016, Shijun also completed the Certified Practicing Accountant program from CPA Australia. In 2018, they obtained an ARITA Advanced Certification from the Australian Restructuring, Insolvency and Turnaround Association. Additionally, Shijun holds a Higher School Certificate from Cherrybrook Technology High School in 2004 and a Justice of the Peace degree from the NSW Government Justice & Attorney General, starting in 2018.
