Micah Backlund

Micah Backlund is an experienced HSE Director with a career spanning over two decades. Currently at Helmerich & Payne since April 2008, Micah has held multiple roles including US Land HSE Manager and HSE Manager, overseeing a team of approximately 30 HSE professionals in support of a 100+ rig operation. Prior experience includes HSE Compliance Specialist at Chevron and Field Safety Representative for the Flex 4 project at Helmerich. Micah began a career at Dyn McDermott as an ES+H Technician, delivering support for the DOE project. Educational qualifications include an MBA in Business Administration, Management and Operations, and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
