Mark W. Smith

Mark Smith has served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of H&P since 2018. Smith leads H&P’s global financial operations, including investor relations, finance, risk management, tax and accounting.

Smith has served in the oilfield services sector for the last decade. Prior to joining H&P, Smith was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Atwood Oceanics, an offshore driller, where he held a variety of leadership positions. Smith assisted H&P CEO, John Lindsay, on implementing the company’s new forward-looking strategy. Smith was instrumental in creating the H&P Strategy Office, which oversees strategy development and progress across the company. He is a current member of the Executive Leadership Team.

Smith is a Certified Public Accountant and serves on the Board of Child Advocates in Houston, Texas.

He graduated from Baylor University, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, and later a Master’s in Business Administration.
