Strahlenschutzbeauftragter at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon

Christian Horstmann has extensive experience in the field of mechanical engineering and technology management, currently serving as Strahlenschutzbeauftragter and Technischer Leiter mechanische Prüflabore at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon since March 2021. Previously, Christian held similar leadership roles at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht from June 2019 to March 2021 and from November 2010 to May 2019, where responsibilities included managing mechanical testing laboratories and advancing coating technologies for thin film applications. Early career roles include engineering positions at GKSS, where Christian utilized advanced analytical techniques for thin film properties, and o.m.t. as a Quality Engineer. Christian's career began as a design engineer/project employee at Montblanc, contributing to the development of a new database to enhance workflow. Christian holds a Diplom in Maschinenbau from Technische Hochschule Lübeck, earned between 2000 and 2004.
