Susanna Flood has a diverse and extensive work experience in various communication roles. Susanna began their career in 1993 at the BBC as a Publicity & Marketing Manager for Africa and the Middle East. Susanna then worked at the British Council as the Head of Public Relations and later joined CNN International as the Director of Press, EMEA. In 2008, Flood became the Global Director of Media at Amnesty International. Susanna successfully transformed the organization's news and media work, increasing its external impact by 146% in 2015. Flood also served as the Director of Communications (Interim) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust and Children's Charity, where they led multiple teams and provided strategic communications advice to top executives. Prior to their current role as the Global Head of Communications at HelpAge International, Flood worked as a self-employed Communications Consultant.
Susanna Flood has a Bachelor of Arts degree in French, Arabic, Business Studies, and Philosophy from The University of Edinburgh. Prior to attending university, they attended Loretto School in Musselburgh and Wellington School in Ayr, where they did not obtain a degree. In 2019, they enrolled in City Lit in London and is currently pursuing an Award in Adult Education and Training.
