Inger Meland Buene is a highly experienced healthcare professional currently serving as Spesialrådgiver in Medisin og helsefag for Psykisk helsevern og rusbehandling at Helse Sør-Øst RHF since November 2024. Prior to this role, Inger held the position of Vice President at Drammen Hospital within Vestre Viken Hospital Trust from December 2021 to November 2024, and was Vice President of Mental Health and Addiction and Head of Department for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Vestfold Hospital Trust from 2005 to 2021. Inger also served as Head of the Specialty Committee in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Norwegian Medical Association from 2004 to 2009 and completed the Norwegian National Program for Hospital Executives in 2007. Earlier clinical experience includes roles as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Telemark Health Trust and Vestfold Hospital Trust, as well as at St. Olavs Hospital. Inger has an extensive education background, including a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oslo, a Master of Management from BI Norwegian Business School, and a Master of Health Care Delivery Science from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
