Nathan Phillips

Nathan Phillips is a seasoned hardware engineer currently employed at Helsing since July 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Skydweller Aero from October 2020 to June 2025, where Nathan led projects for landing gear and systems for solar-powered high-altitude aircraft. Earlier, Nathan worked at PV Labs Ltd. as a Mechanical Design Engineer, contributing to mechatronic systems for the aerospace sector, and held various research positions at institutions such as the University of London and the University of Oxford, focusing on bio-inspired designs and aerodynamics. Nathan holds a PhD in Experimental Unsteady Aerodynamics from Cranfield University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University.
