Elina Lappalainen

Elina Lappalainen is an accomplished business journalist currently working at Helsingin Sanomat Visio since January 2021, focusing on startups, growth companies, technology, and the new economy through feature articles, analysis, columns, and investigative journalism. In addition to journalism, Elina serves as the Board Chair for Asunto-Oy Säästökehä in Espoo since May 2024, having been a board member since June 2021. Previous experience includes roles at Tammi as a Non-Fiction author, and a long tenure at Alma Talent, where Elina specialized in startups, VC funding, and technology journalism. Additionally, Elina has a background in promoting reading through board roles at Lukukeskus, and has held various journalism positions at Helsingin Sanomat, Medialiitto, and other publications, building a diverse portfolio in economic and news reporting. Elina holds a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Jyväskylä and a high school baccalaureate from Kuopion Lyseo.
