Merja Saarinen

Merja Saarinen is a seasoned business journalist with extensive experience in the Finnish media landscape. Currently employed at Helsingin Sanomat since January 2021, Merja contributes to HS Visio. Prior to this role, Merja served as a journalist and news editor in the market news department for Kauppalehti, Arvopaperi, and Talouselämä from May 2016 to December 2020. Merja's experience also includes working as a news editor and journalist at Talouselämä from October 2013 to April 2016, and as managing editor for 3T-Talous at Sanoma Magazines from November 2011 to September 2013. Earlier in Merja's career, roles as a news editor, journalist, and foreign correspondent at Taloussanomat from December 1997 to November 2011 were undertaken. Merja holds a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Helsinki and a Taloustoimittajatutkinto from Sanomien toimittajakoulu.
