Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE)
Kati Donner currently serves as Chair of the HiLIFE Genomics infrastructure platform at the Helsinki Institute of Life Science (HiLIFE) and Coordinator of the Biocenter Finland Genome-Wide Methods platform, both positions held since February 2023. At the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), Kati Donner has been the Head of the Genomics unit and Head of the Genotyping unit since August 2012, while also being a Team Leader in the FinnGen research project. Previous experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Molecular Medicine from April 2006 to December 2012 and as a PhD student at the Folkhälsan Institute of Genetics from December 2000 to April 2006. Kati Donner holds the qualification of Associate Professor in Genetics from the University of Helsinki.

HiLIFE Helsinki Institute of Life Science is a new institute established in 2017 that supports high quality life science research across the University of Helsinki campuses and faculties. HiLIFE builds on existing strengths and new recruits and partnerships to create an attractive international environment for researchers to solve grand challenges in health, food, and environment. HiLIFE coordinates research infrastructures in life sciences and provides research-based interdisciplinary training.
