Richard Haep

Richard Haep is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in management and program coordination within international development organizations. Currently serving as Country Director at Helvetas since August 2021, Richard previously held the same position at Caritas Schweiz from January 2018 to July 2021. Richard's career includes significant leadership roles at Welthungerhilfe from September 2002 to December 2017, overseeing various regional and country programs in Latin America and the Caribbean. Richard's earlier experience includes project planning and implementation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH, focusing on organizational development, ecological research, and urban water management from 1994 to 2002. Richard holds a Diplom in Biochemistry from Freie Universität Berlin and a certification in Rural Development from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
