Hazel Pereira

Hazel Pereira has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Hazel started their career as a Teacher at St. Lawrence's Convent from October 2007 to December 2009. Hazel then worked as an Internal Audit Trainee at Richard Pieris & Company PLC from July 2010 to February 2011.

Hazel joined Lankem Ceylon PLC in March 2011 and held positions such as Management Trainee, Junior Executive - Finance, Executive - Group Finance, Assistant Accountant, and Accountant from 2011 to 2016.

In 2016, Hazel moved to HEMAS HOLDINGS PLC, where they began as a Finance Manager until April 2019. Hazel then advanced to the role of Senior Manager - Group Finance & Treasury from April 2019 to July 2022. From November 2021 to July 2022, they held the position of Head of Finance and Group Treasury, where their responsibilities included the timely publication of financials, management of audits, and implementation of accounting standards and policies. Hazel then served as the General Manager - Group Finance / Group Treasurer from April 2022 to January 2023. Currently, they hold the role of Director - Group Finance / Group Treasurer at HEMAS HOLDINGS PLC.

Hazel Pereira has a diverse education history. Hazel obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in General Studies from Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya in 2013. Hazel also completed the Hemas Future Leaders Programme from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore in 2018. Hazel is a Fellow Member Institute of Chartered Accountants of Management Accountants UK from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) - UK, where they studied Accounting and Business/Management from 2007 to 2022. Hazel is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, specializing in Financial Accounting and Business/Management from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, they earned a Diploma in Capital Markets from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) in 2020, focusing on Treasury, Portfolio Management, Fund Management & Private Equity. Hazel also holds a membership in Chartered Global Management Accountant. Hazel has completed several additional certifications, including Managing Stress for Positive Change, Building Resilience, and Developing Resourcefulness, from LinkedIn in 2020.
