Ishani Ranasinghe

Ishani Ranasinghe has a diverse range of experience in corporate sustainability, corporate communications, marketing, and journalism. Ishani currently serves as the Head of Group Sustainability and Corporate Communications at Hemas Holdings PLC, where they lead the implementation of the ESG management framework, oversees sustainability initiatives, and manages internal and external communications. Prior to their current role, they were a Senior Manager in the same department at Hemas Holdings PLC.

Before joining Hemas Holdings PLC, Ishani held positions at MTD Walkers PLC, Trekurious, Mongoose Adventures, Vanguard Management Services/The Colombo Spirit, and The Sunday Times - Sri Lanka.

At MTD Walkers PLC, they served as the Assistant Vice President and later as the Head of Group Sustainability and Corporate Communications, where they played a key role in sustainable development practices and strategies, conducted internal and external audits, and managed communications efforts.

At Trekurious, they served as the Head of Marketing and Communications, and at Mongoose Adventures, they were the Head of Marketing & Communications, overseeing corporate marketing and communications functions.

Earlier in their career, they worked at Vanguard Management Services/The Colombo Spirit as the Head of Content - Lifestyle Media, where they determined the direction of the website, managed content providers, and developed communication strategies.

Ishani'sjournalism experience includes working as a Journalist at The Sunday Times - Sri Lanka.

Throughout their career, Ishani Ranasinghe has demonstrated expertise in sustainability, corporate communications, marketing, and media, and has contributed to the success of the organizations they have worked for.

Ishani Ranasinghe's education history includes an Executive Education program in Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge in 2023. Ishani also obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Sociology, and International Relations from the University of Colombo from 2005 to 2008. Ishani'searlier education took place at Visakha Vidyalaya from 1989 to 2002. Additionally, they hold certifications as an ISO14001: 2015 Certified Internal Auditor from SGS in 2021 and in Sustainability Reporting (GRI Standard) Guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in 2017.
