Frode Vartdal

Dr. Frode Vartdal served as Dean at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo from 2011 to 2018. Prior to this, he headed the Institute of Clinical Medicine and the Faculty Division of Rikshospitalet. He is a specialist and professor emeritus in Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, and his main area of research has been within the fields of neuroimmunology and transplantation immunology.

Frode previously held positions as a member of a scientific committee at the Novo Nordic Foundation and member of an EU Expert Committee on Biomedical Research. At present he is on the Board of Directors of the EU-funded Human Brain Project (EBRAINS).
