Napoleon Butler, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at HemoShear Therapeutics, contributing to the development of novel therapeutics for rare metabolic disorders since September 2020. In this role, Napoleon leads a multidisciplinary team, drives preclinical model development, and engages with external partners and key opinion leaders. Prior to this position, Napoleon was a PhD candidate at the University of Virginia, where a strong focus was placed on understanding abnormal metabolism in small cell lung cancer through diverse training in molecular techniques and tumor modeling. Additional experience includes a licensing internship at the University of Virginia Licensing & Ventures Group, and undergraduate research at North Carolina State University, where foundational skills in genetics and molecular biology were developed. Academic credentials include a PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology, an MS in Biological and Physical Sciences, and a BS in Biology with a focus on Genetics and Biomanufacturing.
