Cathal Geoghegan has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Cathal is currently the Vice President of the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) since June 2022 and will assume the role of President in June 2023. Additionally, they serve as a Director and Board Member for the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance since November 2022. In 2019, Cathal became a Director and Board Member for The Country Range Group. Prior to that, they were the Managing Director of Henderson Foodservice Ltd. starting in August 2018. From 2013 to 2018, Cathal held the position of Managing Director at Mount Charles. Cathal also served as the Financial Director at Mount Charles from October 2000 to December 2012, overseeing financial affairs, IT systems, and compliance processes. Before joining Mount Charles, they worked as an Accountant/Chief Accountant for Jurys Doyle Hotel Group from July 1998 to September 2000 and as a Finance Officer for the Grand Opera House, Belfast from April 1994 to June 1998.
Cathal Geoghegan has a diverse education history. In 2022, they obtained a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD). In 2018, they earned a Certificate in Company Direction from the same institution. Earlier in their career, from 1988 to 1991, Cathal pursued a BA Hons in Accounting with Computing at Ulster University. Prior to that, they completed their Leaving Certificate at St Eunan's College in Letterkenny in 1988. Their primary school education was received at Scoil Colmcille PS in Letterkenny, from 1979 to 1982. Additionally, in 1997, they obtained the FCCA certification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
