Adam Vega

Head Gardener of the Asian gardens and camelia collection at The Huntington

Adam Vega has a diverse work experience in the field of horticulture and landscaping. Adam started their career at The Home Depot as a Garden Associate in 2008 and worked there until 2014. In this role, they gained knowledge in plant identification and care and provided customer support.

From 2016 to 2022, Adam worked as a Groundskeeper at The Webb Schools. Here, they performed various landscaping duties on a large school property, including mowing, planting, trimming trees and shrubbery, and creating new landscaped areas. Adam also maintained and repaired irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage.

In 2022, Adam joined The Huntington as the Head Gardener of the Asian gardens and camelia collection. In this role, they oversee the care, maintenance, and additions to the North Vista, Chinese, and Japanese gardens. Adam manages a crew of 7 employees and performs tasks such as weeding, pruning in traditional Chinese and Japanese styles, pest and disease identification, hand watering, installing new landscapes, and maintaining water features. Adam also coordinates with other departments on large-scale projects.

Throughout their work experience, Adam has demonstrated their expertise in horticulture, landscaping, and customer service.

Adam Vega attended Mt. San Antonio College from 2017 to 2021, where they pursued an Associate of Science degree in Ornamental Horticulture. Adam obtained this degree during their time at the college.
