Genevieve Maxwell

Genevieve Maxwell is an experienced librarian and archivist currently serving as a Reference Services Librarian at The Huntington since June 2025. Prior to this role, Genevieve held various positions at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from March 2013 to June 2025, including Senior Reference Librarian, where responsibilities included providing research assistance and leading instructional training for patrons and staff. Genevieve has extensive experience in archival management, including roles as Special Collections Archivist, Archivist/Coordinator of Oral History Projects, and project archivist at Occidental College. Additional relevant experiences include work at the Directors Guild of America, Loyola Marymount University, and the UCLA Ethnomusicology Archive. Genevieve holds a Master of Library & Information Science from San José State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Women and Gender Studies from San Francisco State University.
