Barry Blackwell

Barry Blackwell serves as the Manager of Community Relations at Henry Ford Health since March 2021, following a robust tenure at the City of Detroit where the individual held the position of Director of Community Relations from January 2013 to March 2021. In this director role, Barry Blackwell managed three direct reports to address community needs such as affordable housing and crime, while leading initiatives in community development. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Advisor, providing operational support to Council Member Mary Sheffield and acting as a liaison with community members. Barry Blackwell earned a Bachelor of Public Affairs with a focus on Urban Studies/Affairs from Wayne State University between 2006 and 2011.
