Brenda Szalka

Brenda Szalka, LMSW, CEAP, SAP, serves as the Director of EAP and Wellbeing at Henry Ford Health, a position held since April 2011, where comprehensive counseling and management consultation are provided to enhance employee productivity and wellbeing. Simultaneously, Brenda serves as a Crisis Responder for Local Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS), offering emotional support to families affected by suicide, and holds the role of Team Leader and Critical Incident Trauma Responder for the Macomb Emergency Response Group (MERG), having responded to numerous critical incidents since 1994. Prior experience includes directing Employee Assistance at CARE's WorkLife Solutions until April 2011 and serving as a Specialist in Top Secret Telecommunications in the US Army from 1986 to 1989. Brenda earned a Master's degree in Occupational Social Work from Wayne State University and an Associate's degree in General Studies from Macomb Community College.
