Jennifer Cowger

Jennifer Cowger, MD, MS, FACC, serves as the Head of Section and Medical Director of the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Henry Ford Health since June 2017, where additional responsibilities include the role of Interim Assistant Director of the Medical Cardiac Care Unit. An active contributor to the field, Jennifer holds the position of Associate Editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Heart Failure and previously served as Deputy Editor for The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Jennifer's board experience includes a tenure with the International Society for Heart & Lung Transplants and editorial roles with ASAIO Journal. Prior roles include Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support Research at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana and Cardiologist at St.Vincent Health, along with significant contributions to the Mechanical Circulatory Support Program during time at the University of Michigan Health System. Educational achievements include a Master's Degree in Statistics and Clinical Research, a Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Denison University.
