Chancievan Thangaratnarajah has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.
Starting in 2004, they worked as a Paramedical Assistant at the German Red Cross for a year. From 2006 to 2006, they served as a Summer Research Intern at The Hospital for Sick Children.
In 2008, they joined the Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) as a Research Technician, where they worked on the expression and purification of human recombinant proteins. Chancievan remained in this role until 2009.
From 2009 to 2010, Thangaratnarajah was a Research Technician at the University of Oxford, focused on research within the growth factor signaling pathways.
In 2014, they joined the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit, initially as a Research Scientist and later as a Career Development Fellow. Chancievan worked there until 2018.
Subsequently, Thangaratnarajah joined the University of Groningen in 2018 as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow. During this time, they also held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher and was involved in research projects until 2022.
Their most recent position is as a Senior Scientist at Sosei Heptares, where they started in January 2023 and continues to work.
Chancievan Thangaratnarajah pursued higher education at the University of Westminster from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with a focus on Biochemistry. Following this, from 2010 to 2014, Thangaratnarajah attended the prestigious University of Cambridge, pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the field of Biological Sciences, specifically at the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit.
