Kaylie Smith has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2009 as the Managing Director for APAC at the Rubicon Project. In 2010, they worked as a Strategy/Market Entry Consultant for Return Path. In 2011, they became the Managing Director APAC for RollUp Media. From 2013 to 2017, they held various roles at the Rubicon Project, including Head of Seller Cloud and Managing Director JAPAC. In 2019, Smith was the Director of Market Operations (APAC) at Instagram. In 2020, Smith was the Non Executive Director for Dymocks Children's Charities and the Founder of Buy Them a Coffee. Finally, in 2021, they were the Non Executive Director & Chair Governance Committee for Dementia Australia and, in 2022, they became the Chief Operating Officer for Her Black Book.

Kaylie Smith attended RMIT University from 1988 to 1991, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Studies.
