Cescily Washington-Wiener

Cescily Washington-Wiener M.Ed. is an experienced arts educator and community engagement director currently serving as the Director of Community Engagement at the Herberger Theater Center since October 2021. In this role, Cescily conceptualizes and implements innovative engagement strategies to enhance educational initiatives and outreach. Previously, Cescily worked as a Fine Art Instructor at BASIS.ed and IMAGINE Charters, teaching Fine Arts to K-12 and AP students. Cescily has extensive experience in performing arts education through leadership roles at Chicago Lights, The Joffrey Ballet, and the Academy for Urban School Leadership, contributing to impactful programs for underserved schools. Additional experiences span various concert performances, choreography, teaching, and arts administration from 1994 to 2016. Cescily holds degrees from several institutions, including University of the Arts, Temple University, University of Arizona, Grand Canyon University, and Arizona State University.
