Claire Thompson has extensive work experience in the legal field. Claire started their career as a Graduate at Norton Rose Fulbright in February 2012 and worked there until May 2013. Claire then became a Trainee for a short period from June 2013 to October 2013 before being promoted to an Associate from November 2013 to March 2015.
In March 2015, Claire joined Herbert Smith Freehills as a Solicitor and has since held various roles within the company. Claire worked as a Senior Associate from July 2017 and was then promoted to Co-Head of Venture Capital (Australia) in July 2021. Claire'sresponsibilities at Herbert Smith Freehills include providing advice on transaction structuring and strategy, drafting and negotiating key transaction documents, and performing due diligence.
Claire also had a brief stint as a Secondee at Alinta Energy from January 2016 to February 2016.
Claire Thompson attended the University of Melbourne from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. In 2009, they also participated in an exchange program at University College Dublin, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a field of study in an unspecified area.
