Emily MacKay

Emily Mackay has a diverse work experience spanning various legal and non-legal roles. Emily is currently working as a Legal Counsel (Secondee) at Ramsay Health Care from September 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Herbert Smith Freehills in multiple roles including Solicitor (Head Office Advisory), Law Graduate (Commercial Litigation, Real Estate, Head Office Advisory (Corporate)), and Paralegal (Head Office Advisory) from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, they worked as a Legal Assistant at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP from 2016 to 2019. Emily also gained experience as a Vacation Clerk (Head Office Advisory) at Herbert Smith Freehills in 2018 and as a Seasonal Clerk (Workplace Relations) at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in 2018. Emily has also worked outside the legal field, having served as a Supervisor and Retail Assistant (Cashier) at Boatshed Market from 2011 to 2015, and held the role of Team Leader (Packing) at Campion Education in 2015. Emily has also gained experience in the medical field as a Medical Receptionist at Capstone Health from 2013 to 2014.

Emily Mackay began their education at Presbyterian Ladies' College in Perth from 2005 to 2012, completing their IB Diploma in 2012. Emily then attended The University of Western Australia from 2013 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on Business Law. In 2015, Emily also studied International Business and Law at Goldsmiths, University of London, and Economics, History, and Politics at The University of Manchester. Emily pursued further legal education at the University of Melbourne, obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from 2016 to 2018. In 2019, Emily attended The College of Law Australia, where they completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Emily also took a course called "Introduction to Legal Design Thinking" at the Singapore Academy of Law in 2019.
