Andy Brown

Andy is a Managing Director of Credit, with oversight over underwriting, portfolio management, and workout at Hercules.

A seasoned investment and risk professional, he joined Hercules from Encina Equipment Finance, private equity-backed lending and leasing start-up. As one of the founding executives of the firm, he helped grow the portfolio to over $0.5B.

Previously, Andy spent 16 years at GE Capital, most recently as the global Chief Credit Officer of the firm’s $15B working capital lending platform and previously as General Manager of GE Capitals’ $2B Corporate Finance business in Australia and New Zealand.

Andy has a BA in Mathematics from Northwestern University and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, where he was a Rothschild Scholar. Andy is also an Ironman triathlete and former Peace Corps Volunteer who has lived in Honduras, Mexico, and Paraguay and speaks Spanish and English with native fluency.
