Nerea Palacio

Nerea Palacio serves as the Head of Digital Law and Director Legal Counsel at HERE Technologies, focusing on privacy, cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, data governance, and digital business models to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Prior to this, Nerea held the position of Global Privacy Counsel, advising stakeholders on data privacy issues. Nerea's previous experience includes serving as EMEA Data Protection Officer and Senior Regional Counsel at Hitachi Vantara, where responsibilities involved ensuring compliance with privacy laws and collaborating on product developments. Earlier roles also include providing legal counsel at Ecija and Bufete Alberto Picón, specializing in governance, risk, compliance, and IT law. Nerea holds multiple degrees, including an LLM in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Universidad Pública de Navarra.
