Harry Adonkie

Harry Adonkie has a diverse work experience in the financial industry, starting with their role as an Audit Associate at Adegboyega Omiye & Co (Chartered Accountants) from June 2001 to December 2003. Harry then worked as an Internal Auditor at ALLSTATES TRUST BANK PLC (defunct) from January 2004 to February 2006.

Harry joined Diamond Bank Plc (now acquired by Access Bank Plc) as an Internal Control Officer in July 2006, where they were responsible for ensuring effective internal control systems in the bank's branch operations. Harry stayed in this role until September 2007.

From October 2007 to February 2014, Harry worked at Ecobank Nigeria, initially as a Team Lead, Internal Audit, and later as the Cluster Head, Internal Control Unit. In these roles, they supervised audit engagements, drafted audit reports, and investigated frauds and misconducts.

Since March 2014, Harry has been working at Heritage Bank Plc. Harry first served as the Head – Audit, Special Review, Investigation & Fraud Management, where they supervised audit teams and conducted investigations into frauds and breaches. Currently, they hold the position of Head, Information Systems Audit, where they design audit strategies and procedures, evaluates team work, and reports on audit outcomes to the Chief Audit Executive.

Overall, Harry Adonkie has gained extensive experience in auditing, internal control, and fraud management throughout their career in the financial industry.

Harry Adonkie obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University from 1995 to 2000. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Finance, General at the University of Calabar from 2003 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, Harry Adonkie also holds an Associate Membership from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor Certification.
