Theresa Buick has over 25 years of experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Theresa has worked in various roles at Heritage Christian Services, including Direct Support Professional, Residence Manager, and Associate Director of Workforce and Talent Development. Theresa also held a management position as a Medical Liaison, where they provided support for medical and wellness needs. Currently, they are working as a Member Service Representative at the YMCA of Greater Rochester. In 2017, they served as the Region 1 Co-Lead at the Regional Centers for Workforce Transformation, where they helped strengthen the professionalism of Direct Support Professionals in the field.
Theresa Buick's education history includes obtaining a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Public Administration from SUNY Brockport from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Justice and Political Science from the State University of New York at Oswego, where they studied from 1990 to 1994.
In addition to their formal education, Theresa Buick obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021.
