Luis G. Fernandez, MD, SFHM

Dr. Luis G. Fernandez has over 20 years of experience in the medical field. Luis G. began their career in 2000 as an Emergency Room Physician at Cedars Medical Center in Miami, FL. In 2002, they moved to Heritage Medical Associates as a Hospitalist Physician Partner. In 2008, they became the Physician Owner of Fernandez & Lavin Medical Associates, providing medical consulting services. In 2014, they became the Managing Owner of FR Physican Group, PLLC, a physician group providing high quality hospital medicine physicians. In 2016, they joined Gateway Medical Center as a Hospitalist. Most recently, in 2019, they joined Heritage Medical Associates again as an Internal Medicine Primary Care.

Luis G. Fernandez, MD, SFHM obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 1997. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, General from the University of Miami in 1993. Luis G. also attended Belen Jesuit and obtained a High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates in 1989. Additionally, they attended St. Kevin's Catholic School from 1981 to 1984. In 2013, they obtained a Senior Fellow in Hospital Medicine from the Society of Hospital Medicine. In 2000, they obtained Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
